Willie B Adkins

Greetings Everyone,

On behalf of the Willie B. Adkins program, I would like to say welcome. It is my hope that you are inspired by the words you read and the pictures you see.

For those who are viewing for the first time, we are a college preparation program. Although you will be viewing our college tour, our scholars have participated in several other activities.

We hosted an annual fundraiser " 100 Men Who Could Cook" activity. Students were required to attend weekly meetings. They had to develop a portfolio, and participate in workshops and other activities during our weekly meetings.

Students also participated on a college tour in the state of California. All students who met the requirements were able to participate on the tour you will be viewing.

When viewing this blog it is best to start at the bottom. Keep clicking the older post link until you are at the beginning.

Thank you in advance for your viewing.

Mr. JT Spivey

Our last entry for the year is, as always, our bus driver and my good friend Mr. Spivey. I have been doing these tours about 12 years, and it has always been with Mr. Spivey driving. He has become family to Mrs. Davis and myself.

Mr. Spivey, we appreciate you. Our prayers and blessings to you, your wife, and your family.

Mr. Ken Hendricks

Everyone, this is our director on the tour Mr. Ken Hendricks. He has been with the project since its beginning. Mr. Hendricks gives not only to this project, but to many other students. He tutors for many schools and the Boys and Girls Club. He is another behind the scene worker giving to many.

LaShonda Wallace

LaShonda is no stranger to this project. She has been a long time volunteer and former member. I believe she is responsible for most former members in college now. Her work is behind the scenes and unrecognized at times. Parents if you have not already done so, you really need to thank her or listen to her messages if you have not already.

Terrye Davis

If you have been following our blogs, you will see that Mrs. Terrye Davis has been on all the tours I have had the blessing to be a part of. She and I started working with the project last year. This would be our second tour with Adkins. If you have read all my blogs over the years, you will read that Mrs. Davis is a mentor and good friend to myself, as well as, a blessing to the students who listen.

Juanisha Cox

Juanisha Cox is one of our chaperones for the tour. Juanisha has been working with the project for 2 years. She is also a former member of the project.

Kree Kelly

Kree Kelly is a junior at Vallejo High School. She participates in many activities on and off campus. Some would include Leadership, Cheer leading, Apache Academy. She is involved in her church and is a Debutante for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.

She is interested in Clark University, Florida A&M, Tennessee State University, and Lincoln University. You will notice the good looks. That is because she is my daughter.
