Sites in Phidephia

The next day we were able to sleep in and get a morning start to view the sites of Philadelphia. It is hard to explain, but the history was in the air. We toured the African American museum. The Supremes were the main exhibit that day.

We then went to Independence Hall and walked the city. While walking the city we were able to experience Philadelphia living. We had a Philly Cheesesteak and we were able to witness the experiences of day to day living in this city.

What better way to end this experience than to run the steps of the Pennsylvania Museum of Art like Rocky Balboa. This is a metaphor of the climb to and celebration of success and freedom.

Can you see our scholars jumping up and down in triumph at the hard climb of study and work to success?

Back at the Hotel

We spent more time than planned at the schools. Both were very interested in our seniors. Cheyney actually interviewed our students on the spot. Lincoln spent individual time as well. The individual interviews caused us to get a late start on the road. You can hear the stomachs growling on the bus.

We spent time making arrangements for our meal, and eventually checked into our rooms at the hotel. I must say the hotels this year was top notch.

It may seem hard to believe, but these photos are taken inside the hotel.

Next was Cheyney University. Parents, you would have been proud of the scholars. The admission directors and students were very impressed with how prepared they were. Most of the seniors were accepted here as well.

Our scholar, Elisha, was able to meet up with his aunt, another relative.

Our first stop the next day was Lincoln University. This school appealed to the majority of our seniors. A majority of our seniors accepted.

One of our scholars, Elisha, is pictured with his cousin, who is a student here at this school.
